What gets you want to jump out of bed in the morning and jump into the deep end of the day? Many of my clients struggle with answering that question and begin answering with “I use to….”
What about now?
What are you doing and how are you doing it? No matter what the chaos is if you can’t find joy in the how of what you’re doing then it’s time to figure out either how you can recapture that feeling or find another place or way to engage.
Other questions I put on the table are “Have you left the meeting, place, job or organization better than when you got there? Were you on intention and achieved what you set out to achieve? What was your impact and level of influence?”
We get lost in stuff, in the clutter, in intensity but it’s not any harder to find the answers to those questions in an intense environment as it is in a calm and tranquil one. It’s a matter of making sure you ask them often enough that you like the answers.
Stop. Stop for a second…for two. Take a deep breath and before you dive back into whatever it was you were doing, answer those questions.
With deepest respect,
